Solitaire Antics Deluxe FAQ's
What are the differences between the "regular" and the "Deluxe" version of
Solitaire Antics?
-
The biggest difference is in the number of games offered. The original version of
Solitaire Antics contained 21 different games of solitaire. The Deluxe version
contains 50 different solitaire games. The artwork is all new, and the animations
are larger and more varied. In addition, the Deluxe version keeps extensive
statistics including current streaks, games played, and win percentage, as well as
many others. The Deluxe version contains another brand new feature, Solitaire
Tours, which are campaigns that tie together groups of similar games. Finally,
the Deluxe version has an option that will allow you to check if there are any
more legal moves.
Are there new animations for the ants?
-
Yes. We have developed new larger animations that will play at random times and
when you win. Note the the CD must be present when you start the game for these
animations to be available.
I understand that there are animations in the game, but I don't see any of them.
What's wrong?
-
These animations come up randomly. To force one of them to play, hold down the
CTRL and Shift keys and press the A key. To force a winner animation use
CTRL-Shift-W. Note the the CD must be present when you start the game for these
animations to be available.
Can I play this game without having the CD in the drive?
-
Yes, however the new large animations will not play without the CD in the drive.
You will still be able to get the older, smaller animations if you chose to
install them.
How do I get back to "normal" solitaire?
-
The solitaire version that some people consider to be "normal" solitaire is
Klondike. This is also the version displayed when you first install and play the
game. To return to Klondike, go to the Game menu, choose Pick Another, then select
Klondike and click OK.
Other strange things are happening.
-
Clean the CD's shiny side so there are no scratches, fingerprints, or dust to
block any of the files. Run Apple's Disk First Aid (came with the System) or
Norton Utilities (if you've got it) to check your hard drive for file corruption.
Then try deleting the game folder by dragging it into the trash and emptying the
trash, then reinstalling from the CD.
If you still see problems, try restarting your machine with the extensions off by
holding the shift key as you restart. If the game works then, one of your system's
extensions is causing the conflict.
When I play "Colorado", the game will indicate that no more plays can be
made whenever the stock is empty, even though more moves can be made from the
tableau.

When I play "Spider", if I complete a suit from King to Ace that sits on
top of a face down card, and I move the group to the discard, the uncovered card
will not turn over.
