Masque Video Poker FAQ's

Why am I having trouble with this program on Windows XP?
Running older programs on Windows XP.

I see the error message: "Your program is making an invalid dynamic link call to a DLL file."
Search your hard drive(s) for the file MPCARDS.DLL. You should find a version of this file in your Windows/System directory. If you also have Masque Blackjack installed, move MPCARDS.DLL from your System directory to the directory where your Blackjack is installed (typically C:/MASQUE/BJWIN). Then restart Windows, and the error message should go away.

How can I save my money from session to session?
When you are finished with your session, pull down the Game menu and select Options. In the Credit section change Initial Credit to match your Current Credit. In the Save Setting on Exit group, choose Auto. Then click OK and close the game.

The game deals one card, then freezes.
First run ScanDisk, then clean your CD (if you installed from a CD) then delete the game from your hard drive and reinstall from the original disk. If you still see the same problem, try turning off sound in the game. (To turn off the sound, go to the Game menu, choose Options, then choose Sound Off for Sound.) If this eliminates the problem, contact your sound card manufacturer for updated drivers and other information on how to set up multimedia on your system.

The CD player isn't working.
The CD player is designed to play music CDs under Windows 3.1x. (Windows 95 has its own built-in CD player.) To make the CD Player work, you must load a Windows 3.1 driver. To load the driver:
  1. Go to the Main program group and double-click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Drivers.
  3. In Drivers, click the Add button.
  4. In the Add window, highlight [MCI] CD Audio, then click OK.

I see an error message about accessing the hard drive in a manner that is incompatible with the Win32 bit access feature.
You need to disable 32-bit file access. The steps are:
  1. Go to the Main program group and double-click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click 386 Enhanced.
  3. In 386 Enhanced, click the Virtual Memory button.
  4. In the Virtual Memory window, click the Change button, then uncheck 32 bit access at the bottom of the window. If you see more than one 32-bit access checkbox, make them all empty. Then click OK.

I see error messages about Dunzip.
Dunzip requires Windows version 3.1. or higher.

The program or my system just acts strange.
Run ScanDisk.
