World Series of Poker Deluxe Casino Pak FAQ's

Why are some of the tables on the list "grayed out"?
The list will only show the games that you've got enough money to play. For example, when you first arrive at the casino, you have enough to play in everything except the World Series of Poker. If you lose enough money, more of the games become grayed out.

What do I do when I run out of money?
There are 3 ways to get more money:
  1. Start a new character.
  2. Walk out of the casino and raise money at the travel agency or the pawn shop.
  3. Check out of the hotel, fly home, and return "next year" with another $5000.

I'm stuck in the Satellite tournament or the World Series tournament, and I want to leave to play other games.
When you start in a true tournament, you have to stay in it until you win it all or lose. You can take a break at any time, but your character will stay in the tournament until his or her fate is decided. If you just want to play other games for fun during a break, start another character.

The computer does not read/call the hands correctly in Omaha Hold'em?
This is a common mistake people make when playing Omaha Hold'em. The rules are as follows:

Each player receives four cards face-down as their starting hand. Five common cards, dealt to the board, are used by all players. When the hand is over, each player must use EXACTLY two cards from his hand and EXACTLY three from the board to obtain his highest poker hand.

You can read more about the rules of Omaha Hold'em in the Help Menu for the game.

When I play Caribbean Stud Poker, I get a General Protection Fault (GPF) in module ANTSW6.DLL.
On some versions of the game, some of the essential files for Caribbean Stud were inadvertently placed in the Miscellaneous files group. The fastest solution in this case is to run Setup again from the CD and check the Misc files checkbox to install those files. You can also solve this problem by downloading and installing our patch file.

I see a GPF in one of these modules: ANTSW2.DLL, ANTSW4.DLL, ANTSW5.DLL, or ANTSW6.DLL.
First run ScanDisk. If you're running Windows 3.1x, try increasing your virtual memory.

While playing in the Satellite or the World Series of Poker tournament, I get a GPF in module WSOPDELX.EXE.
You can solve this problem by downloading and installing our patch file.

While playing I get a GPF in module 256_1024.DRV.
This indicates a flaw with your the video driver on your system. We see this frequently with Packard Bell systems. Check the web site of your computer manufacturer or video card manufacturer to download the latest video drivers for your system. Packard Bell owners, for example, should contact the Packard Bell web site.

While playing I get a GPF in module MMSYSTEM.DLL.
This typically happens on Windows 3.1x systems where the sound support is not set up correctly. Please contact your computer manufacturer or sound card manufacturer for information on how to correctly set up your system.

When I run the game, it quits immediately.
Some early versions of the game did this because the computer is running in 16-color (VGA) mode. Please refer to the next question.

The sounds used to play normally on my system while I played the game, but now I can't hear any of the game sounds even though all other programs sound normal.
Follow these steps to fix this problem:
  1. Close the game.
  2. Delete the file WSOPDELX.INI from your Windows directory.
  3. Search for the file WSOPDELX.PRF. If it exists on your system, delete it.
  4. (Very Important!) Restart Windows.
  5. The next time you run the game, it should be back to normal.

When I run the game, I get a message that it's out of memory.
First run ScanDisk. If you're running Windows 95, delete the game from your hard drive and reinstall it from the CD.

If you're NOT running Windows 95, check your conventional memory using the following steps:

  1. Close Windows.
  2. At the DOS prompt, type MEM and hit <Enter>.
  3. Look at the number after "Largest executable program size." If it's less than 520K, you need to free more lower memory. Check your DOS manual for information on how to use Memmaker to free lower memory.
  4. If the number is 520K or greater, delete the game from your hard drive and reinstall it from the CD.

Some of the sounds are okay, but I can't hear any voices.
Try playing Blackjack, which uses 8-bit sounds. If you can hear the sound effects and voices there, then you may need to upgrade your sound card to handle the 16-bit sounds that are used throughout the rest of the game.

If you can't hear voices in Blackjack, and you're running Windows 3.1x, you may need to increase your virtual memory.

After I play for a while, the game freezes up.
When the game freezes to the extent that you can't <Alt>-<Tab> to another window, the cause is often an old or faulty driver. First run ScanDisk, then delete the game from your hard drive and reinstall from the CD. If you see the same problems, contact your video card manufacturer or computer manufacturer to download the latest video driver for your system. If you still see problems after installing the new video driver, contact your sound card manufacturer to download the latest sound driver for your system.

I see error messages about Dunzip.
Dunzip requires Windows version 3.1 or higher.

The program or my system just acts strange.
Run ScanDisk.
