MAC World Series of Poker Deluxe Casino Pak FAQ's
Why are some of the tables on the list "grayed out"?
-
The list will only show the games that you've got enough money to play. For
example, when you first arrive at the casino, you have enough to play in
everything except the World Series of Poker. If you lose enough money, more of the
games become grayed out.
What do I do when I run out of money?
-
There are 3 ways to get more money:
- Start a new character.
-
Walk out of the casino and raise money at the travel agency or the pawn
shop.
-
Check out of the hotel, fly home, and return "next year" with
another $5000.
I'm stuck in the Satellite tournament or the World Series tournament, and I want
to leave to play other games.
-
When you start in a true tournament, you have to stay in it until you win it all
or lose. You can take a break at any time, but your character will stay in the
tournament until his or her fate is decided. If you just want to play other games
for fun during a break, start another character.
The computer does not read/call the hands correctly in Omaha Hold'em?
-
This is a common mistake people make when playing Omaha Hold'em. The rules are as
follows:
Each player receives four cards face-down as their starting hand. Five common
cards, dealt to the board, are used by all players. When the hand is over, each
player must use EXACTLY two cards from his hand and EXACTLY three from the board
to obtain his highest poker hand.
You can read more about the rules of Omaha Hold'em in the Help Menu for the game.
I was able to install from the CD-ROM, but when I play, the game doesn't recognize
that I have the World Series of Poker Deluxe CD in my CD drive.
-
A handful of Macintosh users with unusual CD-ROM drives have reported this
problem. Contact us for a fix to help the
game find the CD drive on these systems.
I see the error message "Could not find Microsoft C Runtime Lib" or
"Could not find Microsoft Portability Lib".
-
Turning on virtual memory solves this problem. To turn on virtual memory, click on
the Apple and click Control Panels. Then double-click Memory and turn on Virtual
Memory and provide it at least 16 MB. On some Macs, you may have to restart for
the change to take effect.
I see the error message "QuickTime Library not installed."
-
The QuickTime extension comes with the Mac, but you may need to enable it. Click
on the Apple and click Control Panels. Then double-click Extensions or your
system's equivalent, and enable QuickTime.
Other strange things are happening.
-
Clean the CD's shiny side so there are no scratches, fingerprints, or dust to
block any of the files. Run Apple's Disk First Aid (came with the System) or
Norton Utilities (if you've got it) to check your hard drive for file corruption.
Then try deleting the game by dragging it into the trash and emptying the trash,
then reinstalling from the CD.
If you still see problems, try restarting your machine with the extensions off
by holding the shift key as you restart. Then enable the QuickTime extension
(details in the question above) and see whether that works. If so, one of your
system's extensions is causing the conflict.
